Long week

Ok. So you thought I was tired last Sunday. I shouldn't have been so mad at A. He really didn't feel good. I will never win the mother of the year award. On Friday, the 19th(?), A woke up with a terrible headache. Well, I knew he wasn't faking it this time. He felt really warm and was holding his head. He didn't even want to eat. I gave him some Motrin and said, "buck up lil camper, you'll be fine." He went to school, I had my cell phone on this time, on my hip, because last time he got sick at school, they couldn't get a hold of someone...... Mr. V sleeps like a rock..... So, I figured things were all good when they didn't call. I went to pick him up and Mrs. H said that he woke up from nap not feeling well. We went to put a deposit on the place for his b-day party and he was shivering. Not a good sign. Went to pick Jenna up and when we got home, A had a 103.9 fever. Down the Motrin and hit the sack. He woke up on Sat. and we went to the Dr. Just a virus they said. Well, by Tuesday he still wasn't any better, had lost his voice and had a terrible cough. So we headed back in. Pnemonia. Poor baby. He is doing better now and I keep thinking to myself, if I wouldn't have been selfish on Friday and let him rest, we wouldn't have had a sick one this week. He has missed a whole week of school because of it...... So, don't put my name in for Mother of the Year. I am also just thanking my lucky stars that we didn't have to do another hospital visit. I wouldn't have been able to handle that!

Any ideas out there on how to make a dog quit scratching and licking her paws? I love my dog, but geez, I don't remember Bullet(may he rest in peace) licking and chewing his paws as much as this dog does...... Here is a picture for you to enjoy! Isn't she precious!?

On Strike!

Ok. I am officially on strike! I am no longer going to cook, clean or do laundry. I am tired of doing it and then asking for it to be put away and it just sits. I am tired of asking to put toys where they belong and they just sit. I am tired of cooking and getting told, "I don't like that." Before they have even tried it! Did I mention that: I AM TIRED!!!!!!! Now A is trying to come in here and apologize to me. It is way too late. I am not doing anymore cooking and I am going to eat lean cuisine. I don't care what the others eat!!!!!!!!!! Peanut butter and jelly. I shouldn't really be hacked off and typing but I needed to get away or my temper was going to explode! What do you do in situations like this? I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snow Day, Bloody Snow Day!

Yup, I said it..... We woke up early this morning to a phone call. AISD was closed. I can remember waiting for the news up North and seeing a snow day..... We would be so excited when we didn't have to go to school. The feeling is nothing like that now. I have the dreaded, "Now we have to make it up...." feeling. I also have to pay Ms. C for A to go to day care on the make-up day. A's school was closed today, too. The kids of course have the same feeling I had when I was their age..... I thought that this picture might turn out a little better, since Mr. V took it..... Not so well though. We have scarred the dog so bad, that when we get the camera out, she automatically puts her ears back and shakes. It all stems from the disaster of trying for the perfect Christmas shot. So, Ms. B, I didn't get the me time today! I wish that I could have, but they helped me out, a little! Mr. V ended up not having his training today, so he was here too, but now he is sleeping, since he has to go to work tonight. He seems to think that we won't go to school tomorrow either. Well, I am going to go pop a movie in for the "hoodlums" and hopefully they will give me a little quiet time. Yeah, right!!!

Brrrrrrr

Here we are! Stuck in the house with two kids that are going crazy because they want to go do something!!! You can only play memory, connect four, dora checkers, and playdough so many times with a 3 and 4 1/2 year old. I think that God cursed us this weekend. He knew that we had some plans this weekend!! No, I am kidding about the cursing us, we would have liked to go to the park and run around a bit.... Or, ride the new bikes that Santa brought. I know, it is winter, but they so enjoy it when they can play outside! Any ideas out there of what to do when you are stuck inside while it pours ice, yes, I said, "pours ice"? We can't go anywhere, people who are VERY religious are even skipping church because it is impossible to drive out there. I know I am from the North and I should be able to drive on this crap, but it is really not me who I am worried about. I am worried about the idiot Texans that think black ice is just a metaphor(or simile..sp?) and go buck wild on the overpasses and think they are invincible! That is my complaint for the day. Anyway, back to another round of "House." I don't know why, but I am always the Grandma....... They are the mom and dad...... Mr. V and I are the Grandpa and Grandma.... How does that work?
I wish that I had some pictures to put on this post, but I haven't downloaded them yet..... Enjoy the cold weather and drive carefully! I have to go eat some pretend pizza.......

Holy Toledo

Well, here I am. Back again. I want to send out a HUGE thank you to the wonderful message that B put on her blog. It does make you feel great when you know that you have friends that are that close to you and would do anything for you. I hope that she knows that I return those kind words and the same to her.
We had a FABULOUS Christmas. Went to go see my 'rents up in the good old North land. Wasn't that cold and we didn't have a white Christmas. Does any place here lately? J had an ER visit, so that tops the list of exciting adventures. She feel out of bed on X-mas eve morning, like at 2, started crying and I picked her up and put her back in bed. She then told me she had to go potty, so we went. When she turned to look at me, she had blood all over her. Well, three stitches and 3 hours later, we were back in our beds. Just to turn around and have to get up again. Needless to say, Santa came real early that night! The kids really enjoyed visiting the "J crew." S had to get glasses too, so A and S match..... How exciting! M and J are like two peas in a pod, and it was fun to watch E-man crawl all over the place. So in a nutshell, the break was FABULOUS!!!!!
Now we are back to the grindstone, wishing we were still at the graces of Nana and Papa..... Oh well, I guess I can wait 3 more years for the BIG move! Well, I better go, it is almost quiet time, no more naps, just movie time. UGH!
