More time and More Pics

Can you tell he doesn't feel well?
He was a trooper and went to his program with eyes a blazing!

My beautiful J! All of her sassiness showed off at the program!!!

I have more time on my hands these days. Classes are no longer until after January. I am thinking about putting J in cheerleading and A in Tae Kwon Do(sp?) We will see. I don't want to become the Texas cheerleading mom that has to deal with the nastiness and attempts of murder. Remember that??? Anyway, my one wish for this holiday season is that my husband wraps up a letter that says we can move this summer! Doubt that would happen, but it is nice wishing for it! Well, here are some more pictures. Enjoy!

Been a long time!

Wow! Who knew that having two kids in school would cause you to be so busy. I always hear parents saying that they are always going from one place to another all the time. Well, I now know that this is true. This is the first weekend that we haven't had to do anything.... And that is because we are all sick. J has a double ear infection, she has been home sick from school for a whole week. A is just allergic to something in the air and hopefully with this freeze tonight, he will be done with it. Mr. V and me, well we just have colds........ I get to go out tonight though. It is my best friend's 30th birthday tonight..... I know, she is a little young'n, but she sure is fun!!! Mrs. D this one is for you! We are going to have a rockin' time tonight!!!!
I have no recent pictures in here, but I have sent out the Christmas card..... That's all I have...... I need to go lay down with J, she is begging me!!!!

Can you say OCD????

Ok. I will be the first to admit it, I am OC! If you thought I was bad, take a look at my son. I had NOTHING to do with this! I was folding clothes in the other room and I came back in to check on him and he had done this........... Hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Picture Says a Thousand Words

Our pumpkin

Picking out a pumpkin

Our "little" friend in the backyard

First off, let me say GO VIKES!!!!! They play Dallas today....... I am a little nervous...... But they can prevail!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are some great pictures.... One is the first day of school, at the pumpkin patch, showing off their pumpkins and a little(not so much) visitor that is right out our back door, every single night!!!! We are all doing great! J FINALLY stopped crying, A is great and Mr. V. is well, Mr. V....... Enjoy the shots!!!

Oh, What a Long Time......

So sorry...... Haven't even had time to wipe my, well, you know............. Been too busy with school and such. J is still crying every day when I drop her off. I guess that this is a HUGE adjustment for her. Much more so than I thought it would be. I don't get it, because everyday when I come home she RAVES about what a good day she had as school. She plays school now and pretends that she is her teacher. I think that the crying is just about making me feel bad. It did the first couple of times, but now, not so much..... It is getting old.
A is great. He is in the groove of Kindergarten and LOVES his teacher. He is working hard and loves to sing the songs with J as she is just now learning the ones he used to sing.
Mr. V is now a SRG. His official promotion date is tomorrow. We are finally on the day shift with all of the other "normal" people. He will work North side from 6-2. YEAH!!!! Only bad part is he has Tuesday, Wednesdays off. Never a day off with him. Oh well, that is how the cookies crumble.
Well, I know that it was short, but I have to get my a** in gear and correct some papers and finish cleaning the bathrooms......
Hopefully, next time I will have pictures.....

Thank God Almighty!!!

A has a clean bill of health!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank God for that!!! I am also thankful because Mr. V got in a HUGE wreck this weekend and by the looks of the car, he should be dead...... Especially since he wasn't wearing his seatbelt!!!!!!!!

I have another commercial..... The AT&T one that has the band playing and all the people calling. Well, the music is playing and there is a guitar in it, but no guitar on the stage.......

I had to laugh today because I went to Sam's and there was this Mexican couple coming out with there three kids. You would think that they would have a load of groceries, but no...... All they had in their cart was a 24 pack of Bud Light...... Silly!

Never felt this way.....

Don't get me wrong, I am excited/nervous/etc. for the first day of school. I have never really NOT wanted to go. But this year is different. I don't know why? Maybe it is because I am changing grade levels, but I have taught second grade before. Maybe it is because it has been so long, it has been 7 years...... I don't know..... Maybe it could be because I don't have a clue what I am doing tomorrow because I don't have copy of the lesson plans in my hand so that I may prepare myself. Yes, I do use a lesson plan, but only the first couple of weeks!!!! Then I am in the groove and ready to go..... My friend B had a good suggestion for the student that likes to hit, wear Mr. V's protective gear...... I might have to!!!!
Maybe I am feeling this way because I am afraid that something is wrong with A. I just have a feeling of dread for this test. I am also feeling VERY homesick and wish that I could be starting work with my sister-in-law!!! I'll get over it though.....

Thought of another commercial that I don't get...... The "Kia, Save the Greenbacks!" commercial. How stupid is that one????

We didn't do much this weekend. A and J sat and watched me get my stuff ready for school. Tried to draw all over my papers and gave lots of sorry momma kisses because of it. Mr. V worked two Ranger games, which means a nice paycheck at the end of the month. Lord knows we need it!!! He worked from 2 to 9:30 yesterday and will work 6-??? whenever the game ends tonight!!! I do miss him when he works and so do the kids, but we do enjoy the money!!! Get that debt paid so we can MOVE!!!!!!

First Day Blues, Bathtubs, Singing Viagra, and MRI Bull

Ok. First off let me just say that I am dreading the first day of school. I have a student that hit the AP so bad last year that she had to go have an MRI. If that happens, then I quit. I didn't sign up to be beat up. Then my teammate finds out that she has a student that is in the psychward right now because he beat his mom up so bad that she had to go to the emergency room....... WHY ARE THESE KIDS ALLOWED TO BE IN SCHOOL????? They should be in an alternative school for kids with ED problems..... These are 2nd graders people!!!!!!

Secondly, (I know this is not in order of my title.... but....) Cooks has lost all of A's MRI info. Yeah, lost it..... Dr. D is just a dumbfounded as we are....... This has never happened he told us. Of course it had to happen to us, right..... They are going to try to do it again, without sedating A, but he is 5 and they are expecting him to lay still for 30 minutes....... I don't think that I could do that..... So, he goes in again on Monday afternoon.

My next two points have to do with commercials...... What in the world were the advertisers thinking when they wrote the Cialis and Viagra commercials? Viva Viagra??? What the hell........ Hmmmm, I don't know about you but it makes me want to go get some..... So does the Cialis commercial..... I especially like when the older couples are laying in separate bathtubs - OUTSIDE????? I really like that you have to go to the ER if you experience an erection lasting longer than 4 hours. WHAT?????? I guess I just don't get it.......

Long time.......

It has been a long time since I have been on here. I guess that there was way too much to be done when I got home. I thought that I would come home and the house would be clean, etc. But Of course not! That is another story!!!! Since we have been home, tons of things have been happening!

1). A has been super sick. About a week after we got back from Nana and Papa's, he was playing with his daddy. Well, he ended up somehow, hurting his neck. This in turn put him into what they call a tonic seizure. Well, that is what they think happened. We called 911, etc. so, he has had an EEG and will have a MRI on the 20th. Meanwhile, he ended up in the ER with a high fever and some virus that lasted over 10 days. We went to the Dr. and it turns out it was an ear infection....... But he ran fever for over 10 days. So, J and I had to sit around the house so A could get better. How exciting!! Needless to say, the fever is gone, but the attitude is back...... Will keep you posted on the results of both the EEG and the MRI. Hopefully, they are nothing....

2). Chelsea the dog has been sick also. She has been having these "episodes" of complete loss of control of her body and total confusion. This mainly happens after we have been throwing the ball. I know, I know, it is too hot to have the dog out and throwing the ball. Believe me, we NEVER throw the ball in the heat of the day!!! We always threw it in the early morning, and anyone who knows A, we are up at the crack of dawn..... Or we throw late at night, after the sun has gone down. So, we would throw for not even 5 minutes and she would be come disoriented and collapse. Sometimes, she would hide herself in a corner. Very scary to watch. Well, we took her to our vet. They said that she had an upper respiratory infection and put her on some antibiotics. They also ran a full blood panel just to rule out anything else. Blood was good, but we were still having episodes. We didn't throw the ball for a while, until she was done with the pills. She still had an episode. Called the vet, they sent us to a neurologist. UGH!!! Turns out all she has is something called "exercise induced collapse in labs." No other fancy name than that. So our poor dog can't retireve.

3). J is fine. She has a bigger and better attitude..... Gotta love her though for being so strong willed! Some days are harder than others...... :-) She will start Pre-K in the fall, so we are busy getting together school stuff for her. She is very picky, so I hope she will be fine with the uniform.... I feel bad for her that she had to sit around with her brother sick, but we found things to do. She is VERY good at putting together an ABC puzzle now...... She can swim all by herself now, and is realizing that it is much better to do that, than hang on her mamma.

Well, there it is in a nutshell. I know that I am missing somethings, if I remember, I will post later. Also, when I download the pictures from our trip, I will post those too!

AHHHH! MN/WI!!!!

Well, we made it! I won't go into the gory details, but we are here and safe. The kids are already worn out. We have seen the cousins almost everyday and have been swimming every day. The weather is beautiful, no humidity, etc. The garage sale went well. I was VERY surprised at how well we did. The reunion was great. Drank WAY too much and felt horrible the next day. I don't think the I got out of bed until about 3 the next afternoon. Poor Mr. V. He came in that day and it was our anniversary. Hmmmmmm, couldn't do much. Feel bad for him...... Thank God for Nana and Papa!!! Well, just wanted to say that we are ok and here. You might have to pry me away..... Kicking and screaming!!!! Hey, Nicholsons - HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

I'm Leaving on a Jet Sienna!!!

Ok, so this might be it for a while. We are leaving on Monday, in the Sienna, for the LOOOOONNNGGGG drive to Mn/Wi. With the kids in tow and all of the crap for the garage sale, we are on our way. I will try to update while up in my "God's country." Heaven knows that Texas is NOT my idea "God's country." It is far from it!!!!! My only question is, Why would God want you to suffer in this heat??? Isn't that what hell is about, hot???? "God's country" to me, is a place where miracles happen, ie, trees changing to beautiful colors. Colors that are so vibrant it almost blinds you. Nope, here there is just really green and REALLY brown. That is my soapbox for today....... Sorry to all that LOVE Texas and think it is so great, but you all know me and know that I am not happy...... Not that I don't love you guys......
We had a wonderful playdate this week at JD's house. I think that I must say that we all have the cutest kids on the planet, including my nieces and nephews, along with B's daughter Miss F. I think that we all done well!!!! The kids had a blast and we were so tired. I think that they are still trying to recooperate(sp?).
Well, wish us luck on our 16 hour drive....... I'm a little anxious!!!! Like I said, I will try to update you on all of the happenings up there!!!!

Stuck up people

Can I tell you how much I hate stuck up people. Let me define stuck up...... These are the people who think, let me repeat that, THINK they are better than others. What makes them this way is talking about other people, even though the other person knows that they are talking about them. Yes, Vanessa, I am talking about you! You are probably wondering why I am on a rampage. Well, I went the the pool yesterday, yes I know that I am not pretty, that I am overweight, and that I need a haircut. Vanessa, you didn't need to discuss that with your friend while I was standing right there. I know that you were discussing me, because your friend asked you something and you nodded towards me and she immediately looked in my direction. Then you both proceded to laugh. Just because I can't afford the best swimsuit and spend $50 just on the top, doesn't mean that you need to, well, I 'll leave it at that........ Just know that it hurt my feelings. You don't even know me..............
Anyway, on a lighter note, J was tested for K-3 this week. Of course my daughter shone!!!! She knew everything that she needed to and more. She drew a cross(most kids her age draw it as two parallel lines instead of perpendicular) and a circle on her own. She also threw the ball harder than any other child that day!!!! She told Mrs. M that she didn't know her letters yet, but she was working on them. She counted all the way up to 20 and she knew all of the colors. Mrs. M told me that she was very impressed on how well spoken she was. That shocked her. Something to be proud of. So, she will start K3 in the fall. Ugh, my baby!!!!

12 More Days

I am over the scary moment and on to bigger and better things...... Only 12 more days until we leave for the great and best state of Minnesota!!!!!! Nana and Papa, ARE YOU READY FOR THE INVASION???????
A has a cavity. Very upset about that! Seeing since he is very good about brushing and flossing. Still can't figure it out. The dentist said that he couldn't even see it. He wouldn't have even thought that he had one, until he looked at the x-ray. So, he will go next Thursday to have it taken care of. It also really sucks, because the kids get used to a dentist and then BOOM! So sorry, we don't take your insurance anymore....... Turns out that the COA decided to change their dental insurance coverage without us ever knowing. Of course, there are really no dentists that take this new insurance. We did finally find one, but their pediatric dentist only comes in once a month. Hmmmmmm. See how fun that will be to schedule.......
Training is over, so now I am offically free...... Tomorrow, we are going to go to the library, get a new swimsuit for me, and then come home and go swimming..... The rest of the week I don't have anything planned???? Any ideas???

Scary moment

Ok. So I have been able to go out and run, off the support of the treadmill, outside with the real people watching. Well, today, I got home from my training and told Mr. V, I was outta here and going to get my daily exercise in. On the way out, I put on my iPod...... Ms. J decided to follow me out the door, to walk me to the sidewalk. I gave her a hug, and told her to go back in with daddy. Well, I thought she did, after all, she was walking back that way. I turned up the iPod and went on my merry little way. Had I not had the iPod on so loudly, I might have heard her....... I went about my business, not ever looking back. You can guess where this is going....... She decided to go for a little walk after me........ In the middle of the street....... Mr. V, well, it took him a while to figure out that she wasn't in the house. Why you ask????? Well, he was watching TV. I do admit that sometimes she escapes under my watch, but she doesn't get as far as she did today. She walked all the way down to our friends house, which is a good two/three blocks away from our house. Luckily, a kind neighbor saw her and tried to guide her home. By that time, Mr. V realized she was gone and jumped in the truck. He found her. THANK GOD!!!! I don't think I could have lived with myself, if something would have happened to her. I don't think I would have ever been forgiven either. Note to self, walk child back to the door and make sure she gets back in before turning iPod on and running..................

Oh, snake!

Just a little something that we found out in our front yard. This rain sure brings interesting things. Very surprised that A and J held it..... Yes, it was still alive, but barely.
Saw the ultimate in friendship this morning. I was at the YMCA, and this lady that is always at the morning class that I go to, well, last summer she was diagnosed with breast cancer. I only know because I was at the class before she went in to have her surgery. Anyway, to make a long story short, the group that she is always with and the group that went to the hospital on the day of one of her many surgeries, all have cut their long locks to the style of hers as it grows back from chemo. They all have the same style..... I thought to myself, what a show of true friendship. I am not saying that her hair is like Britney Spears, but it is grown in and is a cute style. I just want you to know that I would do that for any of my friends. If it means showing my support for you then, I am in.......

IT'S OVER!!!!!!!! IT'S FINALLY OVER!!!!!!!!!

Yes! It is finally over. I can't believe it! I just have one question...... Can I end the year healthy??? Last year, I was throwing up, this year I have a terrible cold....... What to do, what to do!!! I felt bad for the kids, because on the last day, we were supposed to play kickball, but it was raining. So, they ended up watching a movie. How boring for the last day....... A is done too, and he is now a kindergartner!!!! Can you believe it? I was just thinking of how much pain I was in when I had him and now he is going to kinder....... UGH. Especially J, she is going to k-3 at A's school....... She will have to wear a uniform and everything. Can you imagine the tears on that day of school???? What will she do without C and R????
Well, it is another rainy day. We just got home from church and we have to stay inside. They played in the garage for a little bit, but it is not the same as riding bikes out on the sidewalk. A has a birthday party at 6, and we are supposed to go to a baby shower today, but I don't know them, only Mr. V does. So, I think since I am not feeling well, we should probably skip it. He can go, since it is a couple's shower, but he won't have me......
15 days until we start the BIG drive!!!!! Papa, are you ready?????

Saturday, May 19, 2007

IT"S OVER!!!!!

IT'S ALMOST OVER!!!!!!! 5 more days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, 3 and two half days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although, I have really enjoyed these classes. Yes, I said classes. I have 5 switches. The only 2 that I really didn't like were Mrs. A's and Ms. S's...... They had the kids with the most problems....... Well, really some with personality and others, not so much...... I love my homeroom and will miss them next year......
I can't believe that they ended Grey's like they did. What is up with George not passing. Are they getting rid of him? They can't! I like him too much AND he is from my neck of the woods....... Meredith is stupid and so is Alex. I am just so hateful! Until next season.....
Heros is done on Monday and I won't be able to watch it..... I am going to the Twins game with K. I can't wait! Both teams suck this year so, will it be the Rangers or the Twins..... Hopefully, the latter...... Maybe Heros season finale will be better than Grey's...
Gotta run, we have a problem..........................

Storms a plenty

The future???? And Ms. J as her favorite character: Ariel........

Hello. Long time no blog. Yup, been busy..... Ann and Tee came to visit two weekends ago, we went to the zoo with them and partied like rock stars.... Well, if you call hanging out outside a party. That is a party for us now... A and T bought A and J their picnic table, so the kids are excited. Then the next week, we went to the Ft. Worth Zoo with J's day care friends. Man was that fun! We had a blast. We were there when the zoo opened and were there right before it closed. 10-5...... Long day, but fun.

I think that I have found us a church. I had to leave the last church we were at because, frankly, I can't stand it when we are pressured to give money all the time. Yes, I believe in tithing, but this was more than tithing. It was all out pressure, that if you don't give the church is going to go under. Yes, this was the church we were married in and the kids were baptized in, but I had to get out. I have found one that is literally 5 minutes from the house. It is pretty small right now, but they are about to build a new building. The kids like it too. Also, they like to see kids in the worship center. All I have to do is send in my membership form. I just widh Mr. V would feel the same.......

Last Wednesday, my school had some damage from the storm that came through. Our office was flooded and so was my room. No, they didn't tell us we didn't have to have school..... I wish. Instead, we had to sit in my room with a wet floor and a huge blower blowing, while I was trying to teach...... Needless to say, I had a terrible headache. I can only imagine what they office people were going through, with the twelve blowers they had and the dehumidifier going, the phones ringing off the hook, etc. They really shouldn't have had school. But I am not the super........

I can't wait for the month to go by. Then I can be with my kids and with my mom and dad. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!! Well, hope this is a good week! Only 15 more days of school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pony rides at Malachi's birthday party and waiting for lunch at 6 Flags Fiesta Texas.

How terrible it is about the VT tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families.
J is sick so Mr. V gets to stay at home and take care of her tomorrow. I have TAKS so I cannot take off...... Sucks for me.......

Saturday, April 14, 2007

WOW!!!!!

Well, it won't let me post a picture. So, next time I will try..... It has been a long time. A long time and not much is going on. We are in a rut I guess..... I think that I have actually found a church that I am going to enjoy. I went to their new member class this morning and really enjoyed the Pastor and what the church is all about. They are growing rapidly and plan to build a new building. The old building is so cute, but they do need one that can accomodate the congregation. Right now, it can only seat 200 and they have to add chairs for it to be that big. Sounds like Nana and Papa's church..... So, I think that we will join.
A and J had a birthday party to go to today. They of course ate way too much cake, and so did I. WW is pretty much over. Pretty tiring day..... I am about to go and make sure my kids are in PJ's and still awake. They are watching Little Mermaid and it is REALLY quiet....... Will try to bolg more tomorrow.....

It's Been a Long Time

Ok. It sure has been a long time! I have had a couple of busy weeks..... F'burg was wonderful! I absolutely loved hanging out with the crew! We had a blast! It rained a couple of days, but that was fine because it gave us the chance to sit in and catch up. Then we headed to SA to visit Mr. V's side of the family. We had a good time and enjoyed seeing Grandma V's new house.

When we got home it was time to head back to the grindstone. I am now tutoring kids three days a week during the school day. So, I have a sub Tues, Wed and Fri. That is hard for me because I don't like giving up control to my classes and I don't want anyone else tutoring the kids that didn't pass. We did really good this year! Much better than last year! We only had 14 not pass the TAKS out of 105 students. We had 34 commended and 83% passing. Last year the number of not passing was double that!!! Anyway, we are really proud of our kids! But with the tutoring now, I have to plan for my class and plan for the tutoring group. I hope to get some of this work done this weekend. We have birthday party today and I have to go pick up our pictures that the kids had taken 3 weeks ago. You should see them! They are AWESOME! Mr. V doesn't like them. Oh well!

Monday, February 26, 2007

Is she or isn't she?

Ok. So is Naomi Watts pg or not????? Just curious. Mr. V. says that it is none of my business, but I am still curious.
1.8 pounds this week. I thought that I did better. But I guess that I should be happy with that! 13 more days till F'Burg 07!!!!

GOOOOOOO Oscar!!!!

Can't wait till "E's Live From the Red Carpet!!!" I LOVE Oscar night! I do have to go MAJOR grocery shopping before it and Mr. V has a football game. So, I may miss some of the arrivals.... Oh well.... That is the price you pay for feeding your family!
I only have 14 days until my Spring Break vacation! I can't wait to head to F'burg, TX for the second time. We had such a BLAST last time!!!! Plus, it is four days away from my kids(don't get me wrong, I love them dearly, but time away is nice!!!). I also LOVE spending time with my dear friends that I barely ever get to see, due to our schedules! I can't wait to hang out, talk, play games, and eat!!!! Anyway, I am sure that I will post some pictures of our adventures!!!
I am exctied for WW tomorrow. I think that I did REALLY good this week. So, I will let you know about the results tomorrow!
Well, it is time to play with the kiddos.... They are kicking balls around my house...... This might be time to say, "HEAD OUTSIDE!!!!" Gotta run, a ball is sure to hit something....

Zoo pictures

I love the zoo. It was great fun! The kids really liked the part where they could go in and feed the birds. As you can tell, they liked it when the birds landed on their sticks and ate the food right in front of them. My favorite part was watching them. They had a blast!!! The gorilla sat in this spot for quite some time. We kept coming back to see if he had moved, and of course he hadn't. But right when we were going to leave, we checked and he/she had moved over to where the sun was and was proceeding to sun him/herself. Laid flat out, crossed legs and arm over his/her eyes. It was great.

We have a busy day today. Birthday party at 10:45-12:45, then an awards presentation for one of my students that is going to, hopefully, win an entrepenurship(sp?) contest. They were supposed to come up with an idea for a business that they would like to start. Her idea was to create an after school day care for kids that had a movie room, game room, arts and crafts room, etc. This would be for the older kids that are what we used to call "latch key" kids. So, we have to go there at 2:00. Then I have to do some grocery shopping, that is if we want to eat for the next week, or two. Hope you all enjoy your day!!!

Terrible 5's??????

Ok, so my nice, wonderful, terrific, fantastic, whatever else, 4 year old is now 5. I am beginning to think that odd number years are worse than the even ones. Terrible twos, nothing compared to the terrible 3's. Now I am beginning to find out that the 4's were AWESOME compared to a 5 year old. Whiny and babyish are the 5's.... So far anyway!!! What am I going to do with a 3 and 5 year old...... Both odd years...... Calgon take me far away!!!
Here he is, at his birthday party. We will no longer have a party at our house that involves birthday cake and clean-up. It was great not to have to worry about what was going to get broken. I also liked that I didn't have to serve or cut anything.
It was great having Nana and Papa here. I so miss them. I am still working on the 3 year plan. I think that it is now down to 2 and 1/2 years....... We'll see though! I need to get out of this god-forsaken state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What news do I have????? I am sick of hearing about Anna Nicole Smith. She was nothing special, but yet we act like she was...... Why don't people who actually contribute to society get the notority that she has gotten for being a drug addict, sex addict, etc......? I really want to see Bridge to Tarebithia(sp?). I have been asked to change grade levels..... I am excited about that. WW is going ok. I have lost 5 pounds so far. HMMMMM...... Maybe some more this week.
A is grumpy and J is as bossy as ever. Anything else??? Nope, just another day in paradise. Gotta run. I am going to take the dog for a walk.

This week

Well, another long week at the V household. I came down with strep on Tuesday and had to stay home from work on Wednesday. That really sucked because I had a training on Monday and Tuesday and then I was out on Wednesday. It was really hard to go back to the classroom on Thursday. But I survived. So far J had not had any symptoms. She just has her rosy cheeks again. We are sitting here, I am supposed to clean the house, but can't find the motivation..... I need to get there as Mr. D is on his way down here to see Mr. V. They are going out tonight, at least I think they are going out. They haven't seen each other in a while.....

I have started the whole Weight Watchers thing too. I think I was inspired by Mrs. B. She seems to be doing great on it! But there is one difference btwn her and me. She is exercising. I have been sick my first week and I am on antibiotics. Hmmmm. Probably no weight loss. Top that with my hubby making his wonderful ribs tonight...... and the Super Bowl party we are having tomorrow. Oh and the rents are coming in from WI. Mom likes her wine and I do too, when she is here. UGH!!!!

I have made my wish list for Valentine's Day, birthday, mother's day and anniversary. I want a Gina Alexander purse. They are really expensive purses that take one of your pictures and make it into a purse using a special process. I want a picture of my kids and my dog on my purse. I know that it is selfish of me, but I think that I deserve that. I gave birth to these kids, raise them, and play with them, etc. So I deserve to carry them on my shoulder every day until I die! I would have to with the cost of them......

Well, I better get to it, the vaccuum is calling me............

Long week

Ok. So you thought I was tired last Sunday. I shouldn't have been so mad at A. He really didn't feel good. I will never win the mother of the year award. On Friday, the 19th(?), A woke up with a terrible headache. Well, I knew he wasn't faking it this time. He felt really warm and was holding his head. He didn't even want to eat. I gave him some Motrin and said, "buck up lil camper, you'll be fine." He went to school, I had my cell phone on this time, on my hip, because last time he got sick at school, they couldn't get a hold of someone...... Mr. V sleeps like a rock..... So, I figured things were all good when they didn't call. I went to pick him up and Mrs. H said that he woke up from nap not feeling well. We went to put a deposit on the place for his b-day party and he was shivering. Not a good sign. Went to pick Jenna up and when we got home, A had a 103.9 fever. Down the Motrin and hit the sack. He woke up on Sat. and we went to the Dr. Just a virus they said. Well, by Tuesday he still wasn't any better, had lost his voice and had a terrible cough. So we headed back in. Pnemonia. Poor baby. He is doing better now and I keep thinking to myself, if I wouldn't have been selfish on Friday and let him rest, we wouldn't have had a sick one this week. He has missed a whole week of school because of it...... So, don't put my name in for Mother of the Year. I am also just thanking my lucky stars that we didn't have to do another hospital visit. I wouldn't have been able to handle that!

Any ideas out there on how to make a dog quit scratching and licking her paws? I love my dog, but geez, I don't remember Bullet(may he rest in peace) licking and chewing his paws as much as this dog does...... Here is a picture for you to enjoy! Isn't she precious!?

On Strike!

Ok. I am officially on strike! I am no longer going to cook, clean or do laundry. I am tired of doing it and then asking for it to be put away and it just sits. I am tired of asking to put toys where they belong and they just sit. I am tired of cooking and getting told, "I don't like that." Before they have even tried it! Did I mention that: I AM TIRED!!!!!!! Now A is trying to come in here and apologize to me. It is way too late. I am not doing anymore cooking and I am going to eat lean cuisine. I don't care what the others eat!!!!!!!!!! Peanut butter and jelly. I shouldn't really be hacked off and typing but I needed to get away or my temper was going to explode! What do you do in situations like this? I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

J and M ready for church.

Snow Day, Bloody Snow Day!

Yup, I said it..... We woke up early this morning to a phone call. AISD was closed. I can remember waiting for the news up North and seeing a snow day..... We would be so excited when we didn't have to go to school. The feeling is nothing like that now. I have the dreaded, "Now we have to make it up...." feeling. I also have to pay Ms. C for A to go to day care on the make-up day. A's school was closed today, too. The kids of course have the same feeling I had when I was their age..... I thought that this picture might turn out a little better, since Mr. V took it..... Not so well though. We have scarred the dog so bad, that when we get the camera out, she automatically puts her ears back and shakes. It all stems from the disaster of trying for the perfect Christmas shot. So, Ms. B, I didn't get the me time today! I wish that I could have, but they helped me out, a little! Mr. V ended up not having his training today, so he was here too, but now he is sleeping, since he has to go to work tonight. He seems to think that we won't go to school tomorrow either. Well, I am going to go pop a movie in for the "hoodlums" and hopefully they will give me a little quiet time. Yeah, right!!!

Brrrrrrr

Here we are! Stuck in the house with two kids that are going crazy because they want to go do something!!! You can only play memory, connect four, dora checkers, and playdough so many times with a 3 and 4 1/2 year old. I think that God cursed us this weekend. He knew that we had some plans this weekend!! No, I am kidding about the cursing us, we would have liked to go to the park and run around a bit.... Or, ride the new bikes that Santa brought. I know, it is winter, but they so enjoy it when they can play outside! Any ideas out there of what to do when you are stuck inside while it pours ice, yes, I said, "pours ice"? We can't go anywhere, people who are VERY religious are even skipping church because it is impossible to drive out there. I know I am from the North and I should be able to drive on this crap, but it is really not me who I am worried about. I am worried about the idiot Texans that think black ice is just a metaphor(or simile..sp?) and go buck wild on the overpasses and think they are invincible! That is my complaint for the day. Anyway, back to another round of "House." I don't know why, but I am always the Grandma....... They are the mom and dad...... Mr. V and I are the Grandpa and Grandma.... How does that work?
I wish that I had some pictures to put on this post, but I haven't downloaded them yet..... Enjoy the cold weather and drive carefully! I have to go eat some pretend pizza.......

Holy Toledo

Well, here I am. Back again. I want to send out a HUGE thank you to the wonderful message that B put on her blog. It does make you feel great when you know that you have friends that are that close to you and would do anything for you. I hope that she knows that I return those kind words and the same to her.
We had a FABULOUS Christmas. Went to go see my 'rents up in the good old North land. Wasn't that cold and we didn't have a white Christmas. Does any place here lately? J had an ER visit, so that tops the list of exciting adventures. She feel out of bed on X-mas eve morning, like at 2, started crying and I picked her up and put her back in bed. She then told me she had to go potty, so we went. When she turned to look at me, she had blood all over her. Well, three stitches and 3 hours later, we were back in our beds. Just to turn around and have to get up again. Needless to say, Santa came real early that night! The kids really enjoyed visiting the "J crew." S had to get glasses too, so A and S match..... How exciting! M and J are like two peas in a pod, and it was fun to watch E-man crawl all over the place. So in a nutshell, the break was FABULOUS!!!!!
Now we are back to the grindstone, wishing we were still at the graces of Nana and Papa..... Oh well, I guess I can wait 3 more years for the BIG move! Well, I better go, it is almost quiet time, no more naps, just movie time. UGH!
